Hi there
I just finished a small project based on "Anna" by Krick. I planked the deck with mahogany and used some brass fittings not included in the original kit. The plant comes from Miniature Steam Models and with that small 2" boiler, running time is some 7 minutes. The ship's dog is already onboard and waiting for his master and skipper...
So if anyone knows a source for nice skipper dolls at 1/10 or 1/12 scale it would be much appreciated...

1/10th scale action figures work well, I think this one was a figure from the 'Alien' movies.  You could try 1/12th scale doll's house figures but they might just look a little on the small side.  There are 1/10th scale action figures that are easily adaptable. 


I can't quite see clearly but have you changed the kit provided propeller?  The one supplied has next to no pitch so the prop spins but the boat goes nowhere!  I got a replacement from Prop Shop, which works very well.


Your decking is a huge improvement on the original.

Yours is a gem too, thanks for sharing!
I use a 40mm Raboesch prop and compared it to a 50mm - the latter did reduce running time by not improving performance.

Those are both great jobs with plenty of detail, like the guy's half-eaten lunch. I especially like the idea of the servo cabinet being the coal bunker!  Excellent planking on the deck as well. (how is the white caulking applied between the planks?)

Thanks Carl! For the caulking I used small stripes of Ramin wood. They are easy to cut with a knife and after gluing I did sand the edge.

Nice model!...with the smaller diameter boiler it gives the boat an entirely different appearance from the typical Anna.
