By way of saying hello and introducing myself, I thought I'd share a few pictures of the narrowboat I built from a Riverside Models kit (I believe sadly that Riverside Models is no longer trading).
This kit was my first introduction to real model building, and RC, so lots to learn for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed the research and building. It is built from plywood and I even managed to arrange the rudder servo so that the RC controls operate just like a narrowboat tiller so that sailing it resembles sailing a real narrowboat (my other love, being a co-owner in a syndicate for a 58ft narrowboat).
I'm looking to build another model now, with some more detail and puzzling over Caldercraft or Mountfleet at the moment - wanting a bit of a challenge but not too much that I will get stuck! Currently I'm starting to lean towards the Mountfleet "Danny Boy", starting to get a bit put off the Caldercraft "Milford Star" as not being one for beginners and what look to be fairly "overview" instructions. The Mountfleet "Boston Typhoon" looks great, but again may be too much to take on at my stage of experience. So, any thoughts would be much appreciated !
