45x70mm cooling jacket
« on: November 21, 2020, 10:08:30 am »

I'm trying to find a cooling solution for a 45mm diameter by 75mm brushless inrunner.

Can't seem to find either a jacket or water cooled mount that will take it.

Anyone know of anything?

you might have already though about this but
what about wrapping copper tube around it and using that as your cooling jacket...
Could use tube like used for brake lines on full size cars, warm it up a bit and wrap it around something about
40 mm so it can be a tighter fit when you put it around your motor.
so make it even better once you know its a good fit then gets something same size as your motor, wrap it around it and
use the low temp alloy welding/brazing rods with a simple butane gas burner like a pencil flame and weld the tubes together.
I done this years ago with alloy tube around a 40 cc strimmer motor and it worked great, being about 3.5 mm inside diameter it
would shift a load of water.
just a thought to get you out of a over heat situation.

eBay has a few listings for 44mm inner diameter by approx 60mm long aluminium cooling fins with a fan attached which seem to match common hobby motor suppliers.  Is it a 44mm diameter motor or definitely 45mm?
