One of the points I did not understand was.......
"one of the boat’s three eductors and a pair of hose manifolds glisten in the sun. There are four pumping systems on the boat — designated red, green, blue and white — with matching color-coded labels for the operators"

So I understand how eductor systems functions in the transfer of water in ships ballast systems, as in a similar manner to steam injectors function in water refilling of model steam engine boilers

Hi Marco, merci     . I found some very good ones in USA but postage is ridiculous. I do not need them to function.

Eductors and inductors are the same thing.
For firefighting,  high pressure water passes through a venturi nozzle and draws foam compound into the water stream and that passes through a second venturi which pulls in air. This generates an 8:1 foam which floats on most liquids to exclude air and thereby extinguishes the fire.
It is an impressive vessel, but it's firefighting technology dates back centuries, centrifugal pumps and venturi systems working together.
