It was a club display, not sure which club but was at Warwick 2014, looking at what others have linked to you tube probably not what you were after.

I seem to remember "minivap" being a thing -but that's going back 20+ years and not much out there on web about it these days.

Doesn't "Jin" of Microcosm* make some very tiny engines and boilers?  Was looking at the microcosm site recently and certainly seems to tick a box for tiny steam plants.

Sticks in mind deans marine do some small GRP mouldings also which might have come about from minivap?

*I can't vouch personally and my experience of importing things from China is a disaster so don't take my word or recomendation

Bonjour,
In France, "Minivap" or "Minivap 50" was/is a category of steam boats for contests (less than 50 centimeters) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5R6fVEhZko not to be confused with the Goliaths (less than 60 centimeters long and 30 cm width) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZtBQsPy5A0

Hello SteamboatPhil

Thank you for responding to my post appreciated, was this a kit model do you know who design it, was it intended as a static model ?
or could it be used for marine, do you know what boiler size it was intended to run on? looks like it has grub screw fittings, could it be taken apart easily
for service, as some of the parts look a bit rusted ? what it might be worth now if it does perform right air test .   Any help appreciated

A small boiler around  6 inches long with a 2 inch dia should work, it can be fired by a small methylated burner, it should move a small boat boat with no problem.
Here is a 1955 version  :-))  ( sorry its from a French magazine, next page is the boiler details if you would like)

Looks very much like the O.C.L.E = Open Colum Launch Engine the drawing used to be supplied in a little pamphlet with build instructions .Another is the Little Husky although it has six uprights
Maybe a bit large for youre needs
https://modelengineeringwebsite.com/Little_Huskey.html
For a simple plant why not have a look at Mamod . The smallest little wobbler they used to make will do the job as long as you can do a bit of soldering and theres always some old ones on fleabay
