Many thanks, Kemo.  It's much better to look at a pic sometimes to understand a method of approach clearly.  That's another one for the album.  Keep them coming.           ;D O0

Thanks for that Stavros but I think Blackpool is out for this year.  She who must be obeyed is not too well at the moment so the travel would be a bit much.  I will be at Warwick, though, so if you are there I'll give you a shout.  O0

Hi, found another old photo, this time of 164 after she was sold out. I notice the arguments of the shade of Buff paint, another anomaly not always known, is that individual crews would mix extra varnish into thier paint. This was to gloss it up and make it last longer, this had the effect of darkening the buff, when I was a Chatham hand it was not an unusual thing to do, I remember the Oilpress crew overdid it and the paint dried a browny colour, so they had to repaint the vessel. Also ther Captain of the Port inspected the vessel every 12 months, then the vessel was painted up as though ex refit and all brass fixtures would be polished on deck.

Hi Kiteman,
Sorry for the delay in replying. Pics attached showing area of interest on Stavros's 1/20 TID and how I have fabricated my latest version at 1/19.
Prop tube is a "dummy" in that the working tube assembly is removable.
Hope this is of interest

That's really coming along now Stavros, I do like that superstructure colour....it sets it off well O0 Are you going to do any further weathering, or are you go to leave it at that?

I really need to make the jump and start working with wood!? I will only learn by doing!!!

A couple of photos for you, one is 164 after she was sold out. Is she an old Chatham boat as the number sounds familiar, I think it was 167 that sank in the basin after being girted by the Hebe.

Great looking Tid, and some good detailed shots, however colours on the interior shots look a little weak compared to the other shots, if you run it through levels in photoshop, you'll get much better colouring, keep up the good work though.

Pt 109 they allready have been photoshopped due to the fact that some were too dark and to be honest as it was too late to redo had no option but to lighten the photos up  on Photoshop by adjusting the levels

A great model in the making, if you want any old photo's for info, have found a good site with a large number of photo's of virtually any vessel you can think of, including several TID's. The site is www.photoship.co.uk/old ship picture gallery, the range of vessels old and new is incredable and it is free.

Here it is folks - Stavros' TID doing what it was intended for - towing stricken vessels  O0

More specifically towing an "Odin" which had run out of power - note the "Ironsider" standing by to assist if needed !
