Whaleboat kits - comparison
« on: January 03, 2021, 11:39:26 am »

Hi
For my next project I am thinking of building a static whaleboat from a kit.
There appears to be three kits available, all to 1/16 scale:
Amati New Bedford Whaleboat
Panart/Mantua Open Whaler
Model Shipways New Bedford Whaleboat

They are obviously all very similar, lengths vary slightly between 550mm to 615mm
Prices range from £110 to £169

Which one to choose?
Has anybody had experience of any of them?
Comments please.

Thanks for that suggestion Akira. I hadn't seen that one.
Bluejacket's kit is about half the size of the others at 1/36th. I think that I prefer the larger scale of the others.
