Hi all;
First component to set on the mechanism tray in the hull is nothing but a motor ,the heart of the boat.!
I set a motor of 2050KV brushless water-cooled as I once mentioned earlier in a certain thread.
The bracket is thick plywood applied with a thick urethane varnish.
The bracket with the motor was intensively adhered in place finally. :-))
The 4th pic is the motor placed to check if it sits securely ,neatly and is well aligned with the prop shaft.

Interestingly simple motor mount to hold such a large powerful motor!

Hi Stuw;
Thank you for your comment.!
Yes, very simple design by Krick but very robust to hold the motor.
Simple is what they call the best especially when it come to running gear in this kind of boats,
for easy to check,maintain and repair to keep the boat at ready-to-go anytime if required.
It's my idea to keep always the RC models ready to go,as these are RC operated models to be used
outdoors whenever necessary....but covid-19... {:-{ >>:-( <:(

Hi all;
Finally fundamental setting is complete after confirming mainly a good alignment intensively between
the mal-functional oldham's coupling and prop shaft in order to avoid a harmful vibration and noise to the elegant-looking
 Najade.! {-)

The fourth photo is the status glued with 90 min. epoxy to have the maximum adhesion around motor and other
running gears to cope with 24000RPM running at maximum despite whether or not such rev. will l be required for
sailing as a scale -like speed of the  cabin cruiser like Najade.
Perhaps, no need but I thought it necessary to do simply because of confirming that the running gear be OK
when it was forced to do at excessively high RPM on the water by my unintentional stick work.

Hi all;
Pics for today are showing the first and fundamental setting of running gears,anyway.....
A stun tube was filled with grease by a handful of mini grease gun.
Everything was done for checking how good the motor and coupling worked and the subsequent vibration as well as noise
at rather higher RPM.... {:-{

Hi all;

At last,2050KV brushless motor and double disk coupling with 3S 5000mAh lipo reached 24100RPM of prop
revolutions about 1minute and stopped the test ,for fear that something wrong should occur around the running gears
which are still brand-new. !!! %% :D %)
Moreover it is actually needless to make them revolve further over 24100RPM so that she should not  be qualified
as a racing queen.!! {-) O0 %%
The second reason why I stopped the test over 24100RPM is the specification of the coupling that was guaranteed
24000RPM at max.!!
The third reason is a fact that first coupling of oldham's style was separated away before 15000RPM.
The fourth is time to continue the test as this motor was not water-cooled at that time.Continuing the test furthermore I felt might  result in a fatal damage to the motor which was still brand-new.!! {:-{
1;oldham's coupling first used,,,,no good for my purpose! noisy !!
2;double disk type ,,,,could tolerate up to 24100RPM, still possibly seemed going ahead to 27000RPM???or30000?
  and so calm for its high revolution comparatively...
3;New configuration with the new coupling!! This configuration succeeded in 24100RPM finally, though short time.!
4;I measured this prop by tachometer.
5;The evidence? %%
6;dispersed grease to the cover after 24100RPM

Hi all;
The pics for today are the final configuration of running mechanism after testing of revolution up to 24100RPM
which I thought so and so or sufficient for a RC cabin cruiser.
1;final configuration
2;spare battery for emergency at left
3;I paid more attention to easy access around coupling and prop shaft for maintenance,like to tighten screw heads,
  to add grease and to clean the place from the outside of the cabin.
4;battery checker
5;spare prop shafts with prop.
6;green,blue water and white Najade... :-)) %% {-)
7;real "Najade"?... :D {-)

That's all for today.! :-)

Hi all;
From today, building the boat will get into long -waited stages of general assemblies of the whole hull.! %%
Each component will form a shape of the beautiful Najade and finally lead to the powerful beauty like
the Snow White on the water ?! :D
First of all,upper hull and lower hull were glued so securely as this boat was monocoque structure.
For this reason,I used 90 min epoxy and kept it for 48 hours to cure.

Hi all;
As this Najade is as mentioned above monocoque structure made from ABS plastics so that it is
highly accessible into the inside the  hull as shown below.
This easy accessibility is as you know very important when it come to maintaining and repairing and
modifying the hull if required for the practically operational RC boats.
Improvements ,repairs and cleaning are a kind of routine works to get the boats literally completed
once commissioned,aren't they..? O0

The fourth pic;left is former flag ship born 42 years ago as a 60 class gas powered boat now motorised with 2250KV brushless.
                     She was received two major cosmetic modifications so far, but still running like a tomboy .!! {-)
                     Right is newly? born flag ship Najade 4 years ago.

Hi all;
Original Najade by Krick was added a swimmer's deck to become a more smart beauty.
Instead,installing the deck was neatly and precisely to be done in consideration that she might be observed
all around the directions not only on the water ,but also  on the shore due to her good appearance...? {-) %% :embarrassed:
Finally ,she was applied the cosmetic surgery by filler ! {-) :embarrassed: :D

The white beauty in the background of green and blue water as often seen in Florida.USA,though
I haven't ever been there,,,?? {-) {-) %%

Hi all;
My Najade is becoming her final appearance gradually by  the fittings.
The radar arch was assembled after intensive shaping and swimmer's deck glued permanently.
1/2;The radar arch was complete.
3;levelled to install permanently
4;completely glued.
5;fundamental shape comes up like this.
6;If the swimmer's deck was not attached....

Your windows are clear in your construction pictures but appear tinted or black on the finished model. Did you coat them or remake them?

Hi Stuw and all;

Thanks for your question, Stuw.
Yes,I used finally tinted, smoky semi-transparent black or dark brown color by a spray can.
In the concrete,the color is Tamiya color "smoke" TS-71 gloss of air spray can.
I applied several coats to conceal the inside of the cabin though a certain extent of transparency
was kept.
See the pics below.

Hi all;
Today's pics are on how to fix the upper deck to the cabin,which is fundamentally faithful to
the instruction manuals except screw guide.
Unless this guide is set,the screw will be possibly at a loss where to go inside the upper deck and cabin
at the rear part.. :(( {:-{
With this guide,it's one shot for a screw to find the hole drilled in the cabin side.! O0

According to the weather forecast,it'll be 20 degrees C !tomorrow here in Tokyo,and the spring is surely coming here
and my local lake.!!♪~♬~♩~ O0 %%

That's a very nice body of water & paved embankment you have often shown, where you & fellow boaters sail........is it fresh or brackish water?.... ...... is it close by to an Airport?

Why are the water levels different in the water ponds in the paved area between images https://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=66183.0;attach=209084 to the next image ....is the water semi tidal?

Hi Derek;

Thank you for your comment on my previous posting.
This lake is an artificial one constructed many years ago as gigantic regulating reservoir to cope with
flood from the neighboring large river flowing in the outskirts of Tokyo.
Therefore water level becomes up and down a few times in a year depending on the  number of  the typhoons
approaching Tokyo.
This lake is located far away from the Haneda international airport where is the nearest in Tokyo.
We are allowed to enjoy water sports including silent RC ships and boats as this lake is just a part of
huge city park where many families normally come for their individual styles of leisure activities on especially
on holidays.
So gas powered and/or noisy boats are strictly prohibited to run for fear that such boats would  bother the other
visitors here.

This lake is so good for us to run. %%  ♩~♪~♬~

Hi all;
Pics for today are on overall painting work in white gloss spray cans.
The work is very simple to do,just spray four or five times in a day and left for a week to dry completely.
Before that,radar support arch was glued and puttied to get the smooth joint lines followed by sanding.

Dynamic run while it's so silent surprisingly.,,,enabled by 2050KV brushless motor water cooled.
That's why we are allowed to sail RC boats which are relatively fast,but not so fast  {-) O0

Hi all;
After overall painting and drying for a week, gradually a long-waited assembly started...
The side panels and a cabin window were glued,by which the Najade started to approach its final appearance slowly.!
The surface of hull is not smooth at this stage as she was not applied any cosmetic sanding intensively yet. %%

Hi Stuw;

Thanks a lot.!
But all is kit-furnished parts except figures.
I only put them together as precisely,faithfully and neatly as possible based on the instruction manual. :D
This is the best merit of this kind of plastic model boats which you may know anyone can easily assemble
as seen on the box pic in comparatively a short term,though I spent over one year to complete.... {:-{ :((

And the largest and highest barrier to overpass was German language not the assembly of the kit,to my regret.!! <:(
Comparatively much of the time spent for this kit was the internet translation work from German to English,not to Japanese which did not mostly make sense at all.!! >>:-(

Not a criticism, but I notice that you’re swim deck seems quite high compared to photos of the real boats. Is that because you don’t want it to be in the water when going fast and acting like a large trim tab?

Looks a great boating lake. We aren’t allowed out to do this yet here in England. I have fond memories of Tokyo. This forum helps us all communicate when we can’t go anywhere!

Hi Stuw;

Thank you for a good question to the point.! O0
That's partly right with your thought.
In addition,if the the deck was lowered,side edge will touch the water surface when the boat turns and rolls,
by which the some kind of drag force would be feared to generate.
Moreover the deck I thought had to be flush with the original deck height,by which I tried to avoid the difference
of height between the two decks.
Frankly speaking, I spent rather much time about how I should treat this modification work.
And the result was like this.!! :embarrassed:

See the following pics and video for reference.
