  Not a flake for 12 years down here but nature decided to remind us.  !00mm and still coming down hard.  Thing is I think the Council have been caught napping and not sent out Mr Gritter. Its definitely not melting on the main road as there is no traffic and temperature is below zero.

  It's getting worse , IT'S A WHITE OUT ! and the forecast is that it is not going to stop any time soon

@jaymac: Yes, the roads are clear, some of the local farmers earn some money playing Mr. Gritter for the council in winter. We are used to some snow over here, though we had nearly nothing of it last year.

@Baldrick: you seem to have deep knowledge of the German language!? The old rule ‚von Oktober bis Ostern’ can be ignored due to the climate change nowadays. For me it is winter tyres from November until March.

Thanks Arno I meant early morning clear. I know you get some snow over there I was stationed there for 7 years. Never saw snow blocked road but mid 60's I was back in Blighty on leave and on the Sunday I was listening to 2 way family favourites twixt London and Köln when Köln said it was the first time the autobahn had been closed  due to snow. As I was due to drive back on the Monday  not very happy however  no prob they were total clear all the way back very  weird though it was like driving through a canyon huge snow walls either side long drive

@jaymac: Roads get cleared at 6 a.m. usually, service is good. In Köln they have snow very seldom nowadays. The climate has changed but where I live, 100 km from Köln, and about 440 m above sea level, we still are used to it.

Hasn't improve since the 50/60s then   we were 200k my girl used to say anyone south of Hamburg was Italian they do have a sense of humour

Some small icicles (and cobwebs) on the inside of my shed, and thats with my stove on, heat doesnt reach down that end very well
