the filler arrived today, so some work was done, the filler was set solid in an hour or so.  Because of this, the new detail got painted with its first coat.  the A-frame and roof works will get additional paint layers later on, however she is ready for crewe militaire

she's going to need more work on her painting, and if I can get hold of one, a large rescue boat on the starbard side

Well Nord Icelandia sailed today, complete with submarine on the back.

The rx I got from Blackpool show has stopped working so the one I had in the speedyboat had to be used instead, not sure why it stopped, it just did. the paddle doors of the gripper mechanism were giving me problems as well, however removal of the slow-motion unit seemed to cure that, even though it was on a different channel to the doors.

Stability:  despite concerns from Dicky D regarding the roll centre of the ship with all the new gear on board, the ship rolled no more than she did when first sailed.

The submarine's transmitter has about 6 feet of range, so any deployment will have to be done close to shore, though as it stands now, its all systems go!

eventually Nord Icelandia will probably have lights, now, being 250ft long, (theoretical real size), what would be the lights displayed when the ship is using its A-Frame?

N U C signals denoting restricted maneuverability

IE:    RED over WHITE  over RED would be in the norm

(I would think)

needed now on them is a wheel on the top, may use modified press studs or something like.

Hi Ghost

Although I like the Oxide paint  (looks good, covers flaws well),   I feel you might have a colour clash with the existing one on your boat.  Black silk might look nice for you.

Cheers...Ken

looks like its matt black then, covered in satin.  I may even add a blue band at the waterline.
