not sure if the pics show it, BUT I have started on repainting the superstructure,  rather than plasticote "creme de la creme", I have gone for games workshop Citadel brand white.  its water based acrylic, normally used for painting things like space-marine figures by the GW lot, however it is pretty good paint, so I figured I'd use it on nordie.

First coat hides the stains and scars from the work to date quite well.  I suspect she's gonna need about 3 coats in all

no problem dan.  right now im adding some bb's to the antenna bases, mainly to hide the fact that its a 2mm tube and a 1.6mm rod.  the drilled out bb's make the antenna's look better.  also im thinking of at some point adding some chairs to the area around that deck that the lower antennas come out of.  somewhere for the crew to relax

Big Brother gets everywhere.

using some 6mm bb's, M3 washers and paper clips, i have fabricated up somethings that resemble those gimbal security cameras. also added antenna bases, again drilled out 6mm airsoft bb's

What I do like about this build is the paintwork , rough as a bears backside, exactly what I would expect from a research type ship of this nature.

Mark,
There would be at least 1 floodlight illuminating the fwd deck and anchor winch.

There would usually be 1 centre flooflight or 2 outer ones.
