New Das Werk 1/72 scale WW1 German U-boat U9
« on: February 06, 2021, 09:47:07 am »

I received this beast yesterday after having it on pre-order since it was announced- fantastic detail on the hull halves and kit parts, excellent reference book included (think this maybe only in the first 100 kits), extremely helpful instructions, and some very good optional openable hatches and exhausts.
Looking forward to building it.

I've seen a modelling guy in the US build this online on youtube, the following link is to his store and you can find the youtube video from there. he does a good job of it.

Thanks Deadbeat

It looks like a brilliant build- I built their Luft 46 Junkers pulse jet fighter kit in 1/32 scale and it was almost as good as a Wingnut Wings kit in fit and quality. I have a project I’m drawing up in my spare spare time of SMS Vulkan- the German Imperial Navy submarine recovery vessel to go with the U9 submarine.

Is there enough space for a small WTC? Just asking like.

I would say so, a bit of internal modification is required as the internal bracing would need to be changed but nothing beyond a normal modellers skills

I see Model Boats has a competition to win one of these. Someone is going to get lucky!

Thanks, Nick I shall immediately purchase one and practise my skill in German obscenities in trying to ballast the boat.
