Newbie on the site
« on: February 07, 2021, 03:03:27 pm »

Afternoon, names Bob and i come from Cardiff in Wales UK.

My main interest is researching, building WW11German Sturmgeschutz or StuG's, hence my title!! Bit of a nerd lol

I have started to build 1 350 battleships, just built the Airfix very, very old HMS Nelson which was a struggle lol. Next is the Tamiya 1 350 KGV. Hope to learn a lot and help when i can.

Welcome to the forum Bob!

Yes StuGs are fine machines, and I think well catered for in kit form these days.

I must admit ignorance of Airfix doing 1:350th scale ship kits back 'in't day', and presume they sold the moulds to another manufacturer (?)or I might have been tempted with a kit back in the ninties!

Stan has built several 1:350th ships of late and has lamented some of their challenges!

Hi Bob the plastic battleships I build these days are 1/200 scale Yamato/ Missouri. Mentioning Airfix takes me back to my childhood days glue all over my fingers and the model happy days.

Stan. :-)) :-)) :-)
