First build - thinking of Slec Police launch
« on: March 13, 2021, 07:35:59 pm »

Hi all,

Never build a model boat before, let alone an RC one though I have plenty experience in RC cars - I know very different.

So I am looking to dip my toes in the water. I like the look of the Slec Police launch. Slec is out of stock but Sussex modelcentre apparently has them. Kit prob costs as much as shipping and import (thanks brexit) to Spain, but still its a type of boat I like a lot.

So ... would this be a good first kit to start out with? I have several radios, what would I need to get it running at a nice smooth scale speed?

Thanks a lot, all the best from Spain

I think this is a very good first build if you follow the instructions, which are very clear and comprehensive. I used a 30Amp waterproof esc from leopard hobby and 1000kva motor from hobby king. Planes very nicely.
Good luck with your build

Thank you Dougal, I have seen a few threads on here of builds of this boat and it seems something I definately could handle. The electricity part will need some more investigation on my part but I will figure that out too.

Thanks
