Grasshopper
« on: March 22, 2021, 10:49:41 am »

Just finished building the Grasshopper, I've built it with the stock 380 motor and shocks, only upgrade is the ballrace bearings, it went together with the usual Tamiya precision, even with the 380 motor it's fast enough for my old brain to keep up with, full throttle from standing start you can stand it on it's tail, this one is the re release of the the 80's hopper like the one I had back then, not the Grasshopper 2, I wasn't keen on the mk2's floating rear suspension imo it wasn't necessary plus I prefer the original body, the stock number is 35 but on models that have numbers on I put my age just to remind me why my knees ache and why I try not to drop things on the floor  {-) {-)

well here it is if it's of any interest.  :-))

Looks good to me Joe - did you make the '76' on water slide transfer? Can't tell in the photo...

Anyway, you should get some joy out of driving it.
Good job.  :-))

Yeah that's right Ray waterslide, I'm getting quite adept at it now thanks to you introducing me to it, I've got a 1:24 volvo globetrotter and cutainside trailer to build and I thought I would try and do my own livery.
