These fuses seem to be a good standard size.   Not too sure about the testing method.

You've got to wonder where and how he got that fuse.  Those fuses aren't exactly stocked in your local hardware store and they aren't cheap either.  The last 600 amp fuses that I bought were about $300 USD each.  I wouldn't doubt that puppy is over $500, maybe closer to $1000.  Fuses that size are EXPENSIVE.
