Build number 10 of the year - Aeromarine Conquest 44
« on: November 19, 2021, 11:24:15 am »

After a brief break to play with some robotics I've completed another build, this one is an Aeromarine Conquest 44.

Power for this is an RCMK 254 evo, with a Chinese pipe. Came across the engine in a swap, the hull was only £50 second hand (unstarted) and most of the other bits I already had, so this thing has cost me less than £150 to build.

The holes in the hatch look a little odd as it's a bit of a poorly designed hull, others have found that in order to get it to not blow over it requires the engine being as far forward as possible. I managed to get the RCMK extremely far forward, which has created the need for a cutout in the lid for both the exhaust header and carb, the latter needing a carbon splash sheild adding to avoid any water ingress to the engine.

Waiting on a couple of finishing touches in the post - water fittings, receiver and a better exhaust bracket, then it'll be off to the lake for testing. Engine is already run in and set up so it'll hopefully just be a case of putting the right prop on it.

Yep I've got flex shafts in pretty much everything, all from Mark Copley.

Undecided yet what I'm bringing to Wicksteed but it's likely to be 5-6 boats. Richard and I are planning to have a very large setup

I can certainly bring you some fuel, have you got a starter belt in it yet?
