That's from back in 2008 , it's likely the account no longer exists so that's why no photos are shown

2012 was the great Mayhem Meltdown I believe- I think I was in the Falklands when it happened. Photobucket was a couple of years ago when they announced they wouldn’t allow free pictures anymore.

Actually, after trying some different (money-grabbing) approaches, Photobucket have relented and photos from the free hosting days are now visible, albeit with a big Photobucket watermark over them.  At least mine are, I assume it's the same for everyone.

Surely the thread is rendered useless without pictures and rather than it waste members time only to be disappointed perhaps it is ripe for deletion?

When I die or stop subscribing to SmugMug will all my pictures disappear or are they captured by the forum software?

The photobucket thing seems to be hit or miss ever since they changed policy. Some pics stuck, some were replaced by the cat image and some had the watermark. That said they started to be a pain in the proverbial a while before they changed the policy so I've not checked mine in ages now.


I don't see any reason why to delete posts without pics, it seems a natural thing of internet life. Whatever you post in line is at the mercy of whatever. The OP in that thread dates back to 2013 if I recall, there must be something more recent to go from. I'm sure I read a thread somewhere about one of those kits painted up and a darn big difference it made just from a lick of paint!  Nearly bought one myself the other year but too many projects!

1. Yes & no, there is still some useful info in the text.
    I used to have a regime of pruning stuff years ago, it such a massive last and fraught with problems,  I simply stopped doing it.
