Hi
I would be grateful if anyone could give me some idea how much
weight i need to ballast my Mountfleet Sir Lancelot

How much ballast you add will depend on what you've already got in the hull, motor batteries, gadget's etc. Mount fleet quote the model as 45 lbs displacement, so just weigh your model and the difference between the two weights is the ballast you'll need.

Mark the waterline with tape per the drawings.
Put all the pieces in and on the boat, batteries too. 
Float the boat in the domestic test tank (bathtub).
Add temporary weight until the boat is on the waterline. (lead shot in plastic bags can be easily adjusted).
Record the temporary weight to be used when finishing the boat.


I find it useful to place a spirit left athwartship during float testing to make sure the boat is level.
