Hovercraft beginner
« on: April 23, 2021, 01:20:46 pm »

Hello All,

I am thinking of trying to build my first RC hovercraft. Does anyone have any advice about whether to try to build from a plan or a kit as first project please? If the latter, are there any sources that anyone can recommend?

Many thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,
Last year I built a hovercraft from www.walkermodels.com from Australia.
The kit I got was the Artic Explorer.
The hovercraft look good on the water.
Regards

Hi Peter, try Palaform for kits in the UK. I built one of their 400  fusion kits. Its very basic & performance wont set the world alight, but it is good. Their bigger kits give better performance & they are super helpful if you talk to them.

Much appreciated.

Thanks again for the input.

I ended up buying a second hand (but unstarted) Griffin 600 kit with the appropriate power pack.

Incidentally, does anyone know if Palaform are still in business? Their website seems to have disappeared.

Thanks
