Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 1/10
« on: April 24, 2021, 01:26:44 pm »

Hi all;

It's a very fine day today so that I have decided soon to go for soooo long a walk with this RC Jeep Wrangler 1/10
which I have been enjoying for 8 years as this is almighty when it comes to long and rugged terrain running.
This is powered by 540 class brushed motor and 3s 5000mAh lipo and today the car spent 1 and a half of the batteries
for the round trip of 10.47km spending nearly 5 hours which is the longest of my RC car cruising experiences so far. %%
The followings are the just a part of my walking scenes with the Jeep wrangler 1/10.
1;That is not a RC boat.! O0 {-)
2;The walking course is mostly river-side.
3;River boat wharf
4;Taking a lunch of Onigiri (rice ball)
5;I found so many of colorful flowers on the way.!
6;The skyscrapers,the river and the park
7;The longest record of walking with the RC car for me! %% {-) O0 :-))
8;But I never forget the cleaning of the car with special brushes for checking potential troubles and preparing for next operation including lubrication.

Hi all;
I went to mountainous park about 100km west of Tokyo in 2 nights and 3 days to run my 1/10 Jeep Wrangler.
1;Starting from this rental log cabin
2;Struggling to pass the big tree root
3;A monkey was sitting on the fence just in front of us.
4;The hell of tree roots
5;Passing on the dangerous ridge
6;Autumnal scene of the mountains :-))
7;The hell of fallen leaves difficult to pass through..
8;Climbing on a steep slope covered with a carpet of fallen leaves O0

Hi all;
It was a fine day yesterday except the wind direction so that I went to our usual local lake not to sail a boat on the water, but to run my 1/10 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon convertible on the ground around the lake.! {-) {-) O0
The followings are the pics we enjoyed and I would like to title them"The nature and RC car in autumn" {-) {-) O0
1;It's fine but the wind direction was south which was not good for the boat that should stop unfortunately...
2;It was a sunny day and a piece of dandelion was watching us to pass.
3/4;A huge amount of acorns has had us felt the autumn very much,hasn't it ??
5;In the Japanese pampas grass path..Autumn has come deeply around here..
6; Well then,shall we take a rest?
7;This is popular for many runners around the lake and I also run here sometimes 10km in two laps.
8;The plain is also autumn...
9;Right side is our boating zone.
10;The goal is about 0.4km away. :-))

Stay healthy for a fruitful hobby life!! O0 :-))

Hi all;
The first outdoor RC model activity for this year is this mighty 1/10 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that has run today in a coastal park of Tokyo bay located about 35 km(22 miles)south of my home.
It was fine but windy over the sea and I enjoyed the RC car along the seashore where was perhaps the best spot to enjoy the
real jet liners taking off right over our heads as seen in a pic below.
While my missis was crazy about bird-watching with a binoculars on her hands,I was watching the flying planes over us...

1;A bit large unknown bird  was sitting on a branch,that never escaped though some visitors passed underneath.! O0
2;Windy and wavy
3;The Tokyo bay viewed to the direction of exist of bay.
4;Skyscrapers? of Tokyo..
5;A container ship is passing by
6:A jet liner
7;A jet liner is gaining an altitude after taking off.
   In the background is Tokyo international airport(Haneda).

Next outdoor RC model activity for this month is Jupiter F-99 that was replaced with a new powerful 150A ESC.!! :-)) :-))

Hi Joe;
I'm so glad to have your comment on my first outdoor RC model activity for this year.
"Building a RC model(indoors) and/while operating another(outdoors)" is my basic standpoint when it come to RC model hobbies. O0 :-)) :D

Hi Chris;
Yes,it was fine but windy from the north by which the sky was blue...
YES,the bird on the branch was grey heron according to my wife who has become "recently" an amateur bird and flower "specialist". {-) %% :embarrassed:  You also look like a specialist even in this field as well as model boat building, as you could hit  the name of the bird only from unclear pic. splendid !! :-))

Hi all;
It's a driving day for my 1/10 RC crawler,Jeep wrangler rubicon since fine day with a breeze a bit. O0
So I went to my local lake to operate the car, and to feel and enjoy an air of mid-winter. {-)
1;This is a part of our local lake where I normally enjoy my RC activities throughout a year regardless of the kinds of models. :-))
2;Windy a bit over the lake and water lever was apparently so high as compared with normal days...
   So the breadth may have become close to 300m(1000feet)
3;Around this zone is my boating site.
4/5/6;The jeep wrangler made a good job as always.
7;Many canola flowers were already in bloom. Around here is already spring....???

Anyhow it was about 2.5 hours of happy walking for me today. :-))

Hi Joe;
I'm so glad to have your comment on my month's routine of driving a RC car outdoors. {-) :}
Well then,next time I go for driving a car,I may carry a smaller scale 1/12 Land rover Defender... not a jeep !...?? {-)
This Defender does run very well though 1/12 scale,just like a full size of the car made in UK.... :-)) :}
It ran once over 6km with a small battery.!!!!! :-)) :-)) :-))

Hi all,especially RC crawler fans;
The weather being so fine even for the mid-winter with 12 degrees C outside temperature here in Tokyo,I went out for a long walk to find something spring with my 1/10 Jeep wrangler.
Frankly speaking,I expected to find the horsetails which I had thought would be the symbols of early spring. {-) O0 %%
However,not yet at all.... {:-{ {-)
1;Let's go for driving to find the spring.
2;a RC drone flying in the background
3;"Hi I am enjoying the driving in a bit warm weather"
4;Full equipment with a rifle today though it's here in Tokyo. {-)
5;The old at rest.
6;Climbing easily
7;The young are running on the training course for the Tokyo marathon in March or their own purposes?
8;A Thames of Tokyo !?
9;"Oh.. please don't disturb me !" O0 :D
10;The result for today...8.4km/4hours  Good enough to contribute to my good health.!!  :-)) :-))
Lipo 3S 5000mAh could still kept the voltage of 11.9 after the run on fundamentally on-road.
It may be possible to run close to 20kms in one battery.!! :-)) O0 {-)

Hi Joe;
Thanks a lot for your spring-like warm comment.!! O0 %%

Hi Dreadnougt;
I thought UK generally would be much colder than our country by the difference of latitude during this season...12 degrees C.
It must be surely warm for this season in UK.. :-))

Hi Kiyo
Yes I was only about 5 degrees C when I went out in the shed at about 8 am.
But because its a wood building by about lunch time it was 12 degrees C.
Although I do think its quite mild for this time of year. :-))
In the summer last year it got up to 32 degrees C in the shed!
Which was a bit to hot lol  {-) {-)

I have renewed entirely the hull of this Jeep wrangler as seen in the pics.
The new hull is so authentic and realistic to the real one as compared with the original hull by the Axial racing.
What I did with this new hull was simply to assemble and trim to get it to suit properly the original chassis.
The result of the new Jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon is simply goood for me.!!! {-) {-) {-) {-) :-)) :-)) :-))

Attention to the last pic....Side mirror reflects the driver's face clearly.!!! %%

Have a nice day with your favorite RC models. !!! :-)) :-)) :-))

I added some more detailing like a spare fuel can, an ax and a fire extinguisher as well as "a Japanese actress and an 2 US movie actors" to get more realistic image of the car. {-) %% O0 :-))
Well, I wonder what I should do next...If I should put on more small accessories around the hull, they may be apt to come off easily when running in the trail or rough terrain... {-) {-)

By the way, a figure is so much important for a RC model and well contributes to generate more realistic image or atmosphere. Without the figure in a working model in motion, the scene may be or look something so strange or inorganic..
By the existence of the figure, the RC model will be assisted to lead to a better model with more scale realism. O0 O0 {-)
In a RC plane with a clear canopy, the figure is nearly "must" to set in.!!
The RC plane with no figure in the cockpit seemed so strange when it passed in front of me at eye-level from my long experience of RC plane flights. {-) {-) O0 O0

I attached some more accessories to my new Jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon to have it seen more realistic.!!
They are a shovel and a scraper.
The car looks something like a military vehicle contrary to my intention... {-) :embarrassed: :D :-X Partly because of OD color and costume of the driver....??? :embarrassed: :D :-))

This will be the last post for me for this year.!
I set a tow hook at the rear bumper as shown below which I think will add more scale realism to the RC scale crawler like this Jeep style off-roader. !! :-)) :-)) O0

Wishing you a very Happy New Year to all those concerned. !!!!! :-)) :-)) :-))

I did the very first RC modeling work for this year in the form of running this Jeep wrangler reborn with a new body in the large park in the suburbs of Tokyo in the New year's holiday as seen in the video below.  :-))
New year's holiday in nearly every year has been blessed with a very fine day as seen in the video during which it is less-wind
, warm, calm and fully blue sky in slow stream of time.... O0 %) :-))
I wonder how you normally spend this period...New Year's holiday....
