Robbe PT15
« on: August 14, 2023, 06:34:14 pm »

I have been asked to build a Robbe PT15 Japanese WW2 Patrol Torpedo boat.  The instruction booklet guides you to the box pictures for the colour scheme.  I am sure that I have read somewhere that these colours are not considered accurate.  Does anyone have any knowledge as to which shade(s) of grey one should use on this vessel?  I also believe that the below waterline colour should be red oxide and not black.  Is this so? TIA

Tamiya also makes a model of that boat.

i suppose finding the instructions for that would get you better painting details.

i was unable to find a pdf of its manual...  but you might be able to find someone willing to scan theirs.

Hi
PT15 is not a MTB of WW2 , but post-war day' s one.
"JGSDF" in the above link of Tamiya is also incorrect, as it represents Japan Ground Self-Defence Force, which you call
Japan Army.
So called" Japan Navy" is expressed by JMSDF(Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force).

i did find this, you should be able to get most of the tamiya paint color codes from these images, and figure out what they expected the colors to be.
