Code name SWORDFISH - 2nd Class Wooden Torpedo Boat
« on: July 06, 2021, 05:28:44 am »

As it was promised - let me represent our model of wooden torpedo boat (builders' alias SWORDFISH).
Full-scale prototype was built by Messers. J.S. White & Co., East Cowes in 1888.

Cheers, Roman

Roman,
Will this be a "One-Off"?or a commercial product?
Kit?

Incredible detail - great work.

Hi rhavrane,
Thanks for your kind words!
Speaking about the steam plant and the pond trials...what are your estimations for the size and scale of this TB scale replica?

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your so hi-rated evaluation of our engineering reconstruction activities indeed.
You're correct in general...then yes, this model is planned for serial production as a commercially available kit.
For now - it is really 'one-off' "sample" which could be quite easily replicated thou.

Rgds,
Roman

Bonjour Roman,
As she has a thin hull, if steam is real, I would say she is roughly around 1 meter long, but without any other object around, dffcult to evaluate a perspective.

Hello !
I confirm that it is a beautiful one with lovely details !
Should be a winner if ending up as an available kit (4 feet) on the market.  :-))
Just let us know.
Thanks for sharing.
Regards.

That is one fantastic model which really turns me on.   Out of interest the following photograph of the steam torpedo boat HMRAN Gordon was also built by Whites of Cowes in 1985, 3 years earlier and shows a lot of similarity but definitely not as tiddly , more soot , smoke and coal dust encrusted , or shall we say weathered .  The torpedoes are similarly carried side saddle
