land based boat for the grandkids
« on: July 30, 2021, 05:27:01 pm »

i've been making a 'tugboat' for the grandkids.

Comes from a design by Richard Blizzard.  very simple with 2 sheets of hardboard for the sides.

i suppose you could call it a 'model boat', though there's no base, so it's not very seaworthy! i'm hopeful it will be fun to play with.

now just have to decide on the colour scheme!

I used to love watching make stuff on his TV prog.
I made a Patio Table from his Book.

They could sail it at the Henley on Todd regatta in Alice Springs.   Any type of boat is allowed even submarines. %%

Thanks for the kind comments. Love the ‘other Henley regatta’ idea 😊

hi Derek, actually the workshop is the local 'mens shed'  - heartily recommend them.     ( https://menssheds.org.uk/  )

we're lucky that our local 'shed' is in an old school woodwork room - ideal!!

(but i quite like the idea of the '21' label - may well adopt it - nice age for a  good single malt imho!   :-) )
