Normal styrene sheet glues well with the normal glues like Plastiweld, I also have some MEK for the more stubborn sheets. The plastic Graupner used was resistant to all I tried until I used the two part acrylic. Cyanoacrylate can be a hit or miss sometimes depending on the glue. There are some specially formulated for plastics but I prefer a welded joint using a solvent glue.

Jim, I note where you are coming from, the SARS I am building is a hard plastic and the jet boat seems to be slightly softer although I made start on the wheelhouse and it went together pretty well with the cyano I use..

Have you tried Balsa Cement? Seem to remember Gropener offerings were advised to use "UHU Hart", an expensive Balsa cement.
ABS plastics  - Acetone based adhesives, Polystyrene and PVC - Ketone based adhesives. Nylon and Polyethylene - NAILS,RIVETS and SCREWS.
