Hi , I'm a bit of a dummy regarding electronics  I'm looking for a new set up and moving on from the old 27 meg ,thinking 2.4 gig , will any 2.4 gig
do for model boating even if its been used for aircraft thanks for any response, regards Allan.

2.4Ghz is legal for Surface & air in the UK, just don't but the cheapest you can find!

Just avoid the ones with "Park Flyer" on the receiver label.  They are designed to be very short range, OK for flying in restricted spaces, less so sailing on an outdoor lake.  A good basic outfit can be had for under £25, but much less than that will indicate that too many corners have been cut.
