Does anyone know where I might get a small example of the above, around 40 - 50mm long would be ideal ?

Cap Maquettes have one but it's made of Resin and I would ideally like one of metal.

Mike.......Elde Modellbau have a comprehensive range of cast brass anchors and may be of interest

The names of anchor styles is very sketchy and vary between Countries and Centuries

I have their 55 x 44 mm 'Older style' [yet to be aged] anchor - this type has some 3 different names..Admirility, Porter Trotman and Vector

]

Superb quality...they also do a range of studded [welded] anchor chain........[great people to deal with]

If it were me, I’d make one. A bit of brass sheet, a pair of snips and a bit of soldering. I made a Danforth anchor, only took me half an hour.

My mistake, just looked at the pics! Sorry. However a Danforth is easy, a plough a bit more complicated to make.

I'm sure there was one made on one of the build blogs on here. Seem to recall it was plasticard though. May have been a lifeboat build.

Thanks for the info Derek, certainly everything looks to be of very high quality.

Unfortunately they don't offer the CQR type.

If you are going to make one, use sheet Zinc as it replicates galvanising or stainless. They are easy to make. nemesis

I have decided to make one to the dimensions that I need in Brass, but, it will certainly take considerably longer than half an hour as the type is somewhat more complicated than the flat bladed Danforth.

Good on yer! I’ve been stuck in Oz due to Covid. Things take ages to get here so I changed my mindset and made my own stuff I only had brass, solder and paint. So far an anchor, navigation lights searchlight and a circular wheel to lockdown a hatch. Necessity turned into fun.

Thanks for the new link but it's not quite the correct shape that I was looking for, although the dimensions are perfect.

Iv'e decided to make one, similar the the photo from Brass or possibly Aluminium.

I would make one out of brass if I needed a metal one,, easy to solder, to get the correct finish the parts could be tinned with lead free plumbing solder, lots of drawings online.. just made one from plastic, brass would have taken just a little longer..

Anchor complete, deliberately scruffy.

Second picture shows the finished one together with the first one that I started to make, didn't finish it due to it being too small but if anyone wants it let me know.
