As anyone used these speed controllers on lead acid 6v battery, are they any good/thoughts?

Thanks

The specs don't say Lead acid batteries (Gell cell, SLA) so you get no protection from over discharging
the battery,  ( too many Amps ), or draining the battery too low (voltage).

Also, it says 2,3 Lipo, which is 7.4V-11.1V (6v-13v realistically) so it will be on it's lower limit at 6v.......

Have a look at the Mtroniks range, many of theirs have Lead Acid protection built in:

Ok thanks Martin, I have ordered three for my other builds anyway, they will be running on 7.2 and 8.4v NIMH packs

Yes, I have one, and wouldn't recommend it for 6 volts, especially  for lead acid. With a sla battery the voltage can drop quite quickly, especially if the motor draws much current compared with the batteries capacity. Say  2 amps for a 4.5 ah battery. As soon as the battery discharges much things will start to cut out.
The same problem will apply with any esc, if using the bec. My quickrun is fine for what it was designed for, at least 7.2 volts.

Hi 6705russell

I have them in all my boats, have used them with 6 & 12 volt SLA with no problems and with 6 & 7.2 NiMH again with no problems, I do have a fully charged battery with me as a save guard.

I do agree with chas as the only time it all went Txxs up was when I put an old 6v SLA that would not take a charge, so only had three volts to play with so nothing worked,
