Lathe project for someone?
« on: September 06, 2021, 10:50:47 pm »

I am hoping that someone could help me with a simple ( I think) lathe project.  In simple terms I have a combined motor gearbox that I am trying to use to work an aircrft lift, trying to have the shaft vertical after joing to the gearbox has proved impossible, all couplings take up to much of the shaft and at 1/144 thats to much.  So my idea is to replace the drive shaft with m6 threaded rod or bar threaded to M6, this would need a reduction at gearbox end to about 3mm to sit in a recess, the hardest part I think would be fitting the intreanl gear wheel, which is force fited over some fine splines.

Some beer tokens available if interested.
