Harro Koebke
« on: September 10, 2021, 05:54:40 pm »

Another kit I have ready to build around Christmas time is the Harro Koebke, this is a KYModels kit and to be honest it’s the best kit I have seen in a good few years, the hull and deck are 2-3mm thick and it is rock solid all through, there are around 500 fittings, daughter boat “Notariius” is included along with her jet drive, there is all the running gear including motors but will install brushless in this one, the fittings quality are second to none.

Very nice - I have been after a kit of that boat for ages!!!

Where did you purchase it from?

Is the superstructure moulded as well?

The kit is from KYModels, apart from the hull and deck being pre-joined everything else is built up from the supplied plasticard/abs, I ordered the biggest Raboesch bow thruster with the brass props yesterday but there is also a thruster supplied in the kit..

This is an excellent kit. What are the hull dimensions? It looks like a large sized hull.

Wow that is a big boat at 45" x 11" and it will present well on the water. Like you I prefer larger models and find them easier to work on.

Yes I like the bigger boat but they play havoc with my back, luckily there are some good guys who get down the lake who will give me hand..

Like you I have a back problem. I used to use two slings with handles/spreaders to transfer the boat from the cradle to the water and vice versa. This was doable with care. Lifting the boat and cradle up and down from ground level was the biggest risk. I redesigned the cradle to have extra width and also have slings fore and aft.
I am looking forward to your build.
