Some, more aggressive clips.

Bear in mind that the throttle output is limited to 40% and the port/starboard power output is not balanced at this time.
Very stable platform.

Hello Andy ,

You have done a great job on your model tug . I am not as advanced on mine but I don't despair to finish it in few months . The blog which is in reference is very interesting .

Sailing day at Balne Moor today. The weather is ideal without direct Sun and dry.
I'll add some pictures to this tonight  :-)

After a good 3 hrs knocking about my NiMh transmitter battery was gasping  :((
I found a spare here for Taranis X9D
https://www.modelshopleeds.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=34559

On arrival home I checked the lead batteries to find them still close to 13 volts

One at 12.99 lowest at 12.96

The 2s LiPo for bow thruster and my 3s Lipo for receiver were barely touched.

I forgot to add feedback following removal of the constantly on ESC cooling fans ( see post 742 )
Proved to be the correct decision without an issue  :-))

So for the benefit of many hours of uninterrupted sailing, this is the next addition. Fed from the receiver aux channel for simple on when required.

Filled an hour or so watching paint dry by fitting the pump.

Now then, that receiver operated switch has proven unreliable on the Taranis radio and will not work at all on the new Paladin no matter how hard you persevere with end point settings. In fact it currently won't turn off! so its removed and a receiver operated relay is on order for the bilge pump. Relay of choice https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265293100099?var=565152517070 Because the pump draws only milliamps I'm going to use the receiver red wire as the supply.
While playing with this I decided to fix the male connector in place to make disconnecting the battery easier.
I fitted a couple of crew to better translate the scale of things too.

Fail

Pump will now be switched through a relay

Connector mounted.

Great UK seller, ordered Wed evening and just arrived. No calibration required just plug it in and it works  O0

Thank you Bill.
Just back from a club meet and sailed constantly for easily four hours and the batteries are at 12.99volts  8)

Throttle output is set at 25% max and this gives a good realistic scale speed.

The new radio was down to about 30% battery having been on constant for 5 hrs with the screen at 90% brightness and a 3 min time out setting.

All is good  O0

I might remove the bilge pump as now the power is limited it's actually very difficult to swamp the deck.

I've decided to keep the bilge pump but only switch it on in the event of a leak.
I've reverted back to the previous pump but decided it's better served with 12 volts so using this adapter I'm taking the feed off the 3s controls battery rather than the 7.4volts I feed to my receiver and servos.

In place and a 3 amp auto blade fuse inline

Andy, there are 12volt water detection units you can buy, use one of these and the bilge pump will operate automatically, fitted one in the last lifeboat I built..

Easier to just flick it on if the waterline looks compromised or just to see if there is any water ejected.
There is room for a few pints in the keel under the battery tray.
Cheers
