I was down to quarter tank today, hoping it would have eased off by now but here in Peterborough,
I had to go to six petrol stations before I found any diesel.... and then it was because it was cash only.... and very, very  expensive!  >:-o

Naturally some operators are cashing in on this, despite the fact that they're selling every drop they've got.

After yesterdays trip to work, now at half a tank and 339 miles on the odometers trip meter, so on track to fill up sometime next week, the wife filled hers up today on the way home from dropping my sons girlfriend off at her sisters and they were limiting everyone to £35, her tank only took £34 and some pence before it was full so a win for her.

It was sparked off by Shell who reported to the media that they had to close some forecourts because of the driver shortage. This was picked up on by the Road Hauliers Association (RHA) who had been trying to raise awareness of the problem generally for some time and BOOM , the nitrogenous deposit hit the ventilation unit.

Everything I read  from the start says it was a leak from BP.  It was brushed under the carpet after the first day or so.   Brexit to blame since apart from utter rediculous people

Well took a diversion and went and had a look at the station I will be using from now on (it sells the premium E5 whereas Asda only sells the E10) a Tesco stores station, it has 8 points with 3 nozzles on each point, it had 3 cars and no pump not in use and there was no limit so I filled up 40+ litres at 1.40.9 per litre (I normally fill up at half a tank anyway), well I was under half a tank at 373 miles and the third quarter empties faster than my bank account, Just couldn't resist filling up  >>:-(

Probably as they have to pay the drivers of the tankers for all the overtime they have had to do, will be running on conservation of fuel type driving for the remainder of this vehicles life by the look of it.

Listening to the BBC news this evening it appears that they are trying to kick start the bog roll hoarders again by saying that the coming gas supply famine will halt production of this essential commodity. Anything else they want pull our legs over  ?

The BBC have stopped news bulletins.
They now send out messages of doom
and gloom to help the Supermarkets
clear their shelves of overstocked
Products.

Next Monday [11th October] NSW in OZ is coming out of Lock-Down @ 70% double vaccination........then 80% a few weeks late

You guessed it O0  ..... fuel prices are predicted and expected to peak  >>:-(

'The Laws of fuel pricing'

1. lockdown = low demand = surplus supply, so prices must rise to maintain profitability
2. lockdown finished = higher demand, so the surplus supply immediately becomes a shortage and so dictates that prices must rise to maintain profitability

BP [British Petroleum] , and the Royal Dutch Schell.... the real names for the Fuel Co's    are beyond being suitable to print

Something the petrol companies have not mentioned before;   Due to the changeover from E5 to E10  the fuel companies had been running down the storage being held in their on site tanks pending the change and when panic hit a lot had not been replenished . Also many of the smaller petrol stations (like two round here) have had to be taken out of commission for refurbishment as their tank and pipework seals were rubber and E10 eats rubber.
