Great, cool tugs!
Are they ex Fairplay tugs?

I don't think so Hama, they are along the same lines but I stand to be corrected.

A bit of info about this build, after texting a friend who was finished with building models due to health problems informed me that he still had a hull plus a plan of the FairPlay 30 in his loft that he had not touched if i was interested in. After giving some thought and having a good look at photos of the different vessels that this hull would be ideal for I decided why not, its been quite a while since building a supply vessel. I have posted this photo of this hull earlier but decided to do a build log.

The hull dimensions are length LxW 1350mm x 400mm 1/30 scale

After ordering a set of Z-Azimuth 90mm thrusters from OceanWorks for a MIA PO tug build that I am starting I decided to order the 120mm Drives for this build. I will be getting these in about a fortnight fingers crossed.

I have always made my own bow thrusters but decided to trying the thrusters from Modellbau after looking at the quality of the one that  Andy ( Taranis ) had used in his build. I place my order for the thruster on Monday and recieved it today, first class service,

I must say these are not cheap but the quality is very good and I won't hesitate to use them again, a few photos showing the quality.

I bieve these are classed as harbour tugs / coastal tugs with some anchor handling according to the builders.  Can't see them as supply -I guess they could maybe transfer but it would be pretty bloody on the back deck and I don't think theyd hold position.

Will be a great big tug model though, presume that was what you posted the GRP hull for before.

Well I was wondering how long it would take for someone to pick up on the title of my build post, sorry but this is the information that I have managed to get on the vessel.

...about 2 mins from when you first posted from when I saw and I am interetsed in so many things -straight on google, trying to find out about and match, not to pick fault, just to learn.

"Are they ex Fairplay tugs?" -I can't find info on that yet out of interest, just back to the builder so far.

PS:  "New bulid" -they were 1010/2011??  Practically half-shot by now?  The builders website has some really good view of the interiors as promotion but lots of other pics on fleetmon etc. since (fleetmon seems better than marinetraffic these days).

I didn't think you were trying to pick faults Rich, I was just saying that's all the info I have come across, I have managed to download quite a few photos to assist with the build but its hard to get good detailed photos, as to her being a ex FairPlay tug I don't know Hama asked the  same question.

Gave the hull a good rub down with wet & dry today, once I was happy with the thickness I added 1.0mm plasiticard around the hull ready to start fitting the deck supports, a few photos showing the progress today.

Got a start fitting the bow thruster today, plus drilled pilot holes for drive units.

Good methodical work as always Brian - those bilge keels aren't going to break out of that fixing.  :-))

Thanks Ray I have used this method of fixing on other builds, I normally use car filler on the inside to secure the pins but thought glass would be stronger  :-))
