Only 33 degrees today.

Frame complete, now ready for the door and cladding. Then I'll design the roof.

Decision is made for the roof. This will be pent with about 10% slope. A single cover of EPDM that has a 20 yrs guarantee and no seams.
This reduces overall cost and makes the build not exceed the permitted height of 2.5 metres on a boundary.
4x2 rafters at 400mm and 11mm OSB sheet.
I'm going to Pershore again where my engine hobby began so I'm not going to order the steel door until midway through that week. The Scandinavian 125x25 cladding will be delivered on Monday so I'll be popular with the neighbours after a couple of thousand shots  {-)

600 centres for 18mm board. Self builds change direction all the time.

Temporary cover as a refuge from any Sun tomorrow as the cladding is fired on

A sample of the cladding

Yes indeed Phil, today it only missed 4 times in a thousand nails or more.
The cladding arrived and despite my "will do it in day" notion  {-)  It will take another shift tomorrow.
Wednesday I can focus on skinning the roof.
Build cost is going to be closer to 3K given experience and knowledge gained on the way. Materials just keep rising in price!

This is the intended roof membrane and trim kit  https://www.roofingmegastore.co.uk/flat-epdm-rubber-roof-kits.html?abt=1

Another very full day has seen the cladding completed.
Focus now changes to the roof.

Yesterday the roof edges were fitted

I made a rough plan of the cuts

A couple of trips

The essential glue for the joints

Cracking on

Ready to recover until I get the EPDM kit

The motivation

Super strong shelf from left overs. Possibly four water pumps on there

More curing agent than resin? .... that's unusual?!

Thought it was some kind of floor cover like linoleum.

Thought it was some kind of floor cover like linoleum.
Problem with such is that without heating moisture developes underneath that can then attack the wood. The whole structure is free to breath currently

Yes, you're quite right Andy. I've been refurbishing my summerhouse and under the old lino flooring, in just one corner I found the floor had given way. Now I know why!
Mind you, it was 25 yrs old at least. The floor that is.
It's not an insulated structure but has resisted the weather,  largely, thanks to Ronseal and Cuprinol.

A bad experience with a courier called TUFFNELLS having delivered my order to the wrong address but I managed to retrieve it.
Only the rubber and adhesives arrived but it enabled fitting yesterday

Being quite hot weather it didn't take long to relax ready for gluing

This was then rolled up half way and the water based adhesive applied to the deck all bar a 100mm border, then the other half.
Finally impact adhesive around the edges. The aluminium trims should arrive today.

Further issues with Tuffnells today again delivering to wrong address and actually dumped outside a block of flats. So even worse than Yodel.
Just about finished and now making a gate for between the shed and garage.

Straight into neighbours gutter

I built the gate to create an out of sight outside storage area, its 1200x1800. Instruction video found on you tube.
