Thanks Phil
As it just happens! The engine on page one was only a makeover as a beginner but since then I got another half engine with really good internals that I've just donated to it to make it as young as possible. Should last another 100 years as an exhibit. This is also now listed as "In Preservation" by Internalfire.com

The trolley got a makeover too

This 1947 A11 was largely refurbished by the man I bought it off, in fact there's 6 YouTube episodes on it but it still remains to run. It needs a carburettor and fuel pipe to prove it runs and give Dave part 7 for his you tube channel.
Then I'll strip it completely and make like new. Its currently protected with Linseed oil.

Andy, the Museum of Internal Fire is a great place. Have you been there?
It's about 40 minutes North from where I live and I've been a couple of times now.

Hi Andy, I have no doubt, No 1 son in law started something when he had the first bottle. As long as you enjoy them, fine. Bill

The  1947 A11  is now well on the way and after a full dismantle I'm pleased that the amount of wear is unbelievably small, probably the best of my collection yet despite 75 yrs of age.

For a full three weeks now I've been converting my mothers derelict garage into a secure workshop storage unit.
This will give me lots of advantages in that all my engines can go in there along with current project.
My Stevn's Arctic is so heavy even without batteries that lugging it up and down stairs always gives me back problems so this too will move to this new facility.
I've fitted a 100kg Latham steel door for access and a Garolla Roller shutter to the front.
Getting close to moving in now.
Also installed a 4G security camera to watch my mother and her property as she keeps leaving her door open  <:(
This also gives me excuse to check she is ok and taking her meds everyday.

If you don't have wifi these are fantastic and cheap to run with a Vodafone SMART sim

Dodgy geezer

I gave my engine and pump combination a once over in preparation for moving it across tomorrow. I'm ecstatic that it started the very first turn of the crank handle  8)

She’s never talked so much in living memory. She likes seeing my car parked outside and pays me frequent visits to reminisce  :-)

She's not seen my work in the flesh so she's quite surprised.
No more stairs for fat boy.

First engine ready for moving

Loads of space

Portgarth will be going there too.

That asbestos roof looks a bit powdery Andy, be careful no fibres come away and become airborne..  :((

Incubation period is 40 yrs, I'll be a long time dead by then.

It's not powdery it's where my mother dappled it with a paint brush as she did with the whole interior  %%  Thanks for your concern  :-))

Hi Andy, you lucky jammy B, all that room. like the slots in the piston crown. makes it easier to grind the valves in. You certainly put some work in restoring the engines and it is satisfying when they fire up, Best of luck and stay safe, bill
