Thank you Arno
I'm now at a point where I need more space.
Expansion in progress 12'x6'6" self build. In my mothers garden adjacent to the rescued garage.
Note! there is no need to take cement out of the bags. They will go hard all on their own with a bit of rain.

Hi Brian B6
Have you done the ABT Railway in Tasmania ???

Harry
Hi Harry
I have never been to the Apple Isle and am unlikely to in my current state.   I have been on the Kuranda line from Cairns and back on the Skyrail.   Also several of the great little trains in Wales.  %)

Hi Brian

We did Puffing Billy and was a great trip.

The ABT Railway trip we did both ways and we look into the railway workshop as well.

One of the guys gave us a full free walk a round which really top off the day.

The next day we did the Gordon River cruise.

The following day The Wall which is totally amazing !!!

We are planning to do it all again before we kick the bucket.

Hi Andy,
Don't mean to get into Granny and egg sucking but have you pierced the cement sacks? They have a plastic lining. Impressed with the static engines by the way.
             Cheers,
                   Pete.  :-)) :-)) :-))

Yes but it’s not a waterproof lining  :-))   So no piercing and already hard from 3 days rain here.

Another bonus of the Peugeot HORIZON is the wheelchair modification gives it a bigger headroom. Careful measuring has revealed that if I get my 8'x4' OSB sheets cut in store to fit 1220x1990 they will just fit my car  :-)

I did of course space my joists so that the joints at 1220mm centre on them. The deck will be glued and brad nailed with my new Makita 18volt finishing nailer.

My son will use this more than I ever will (when I've done with it)

Whilst in B&Q yesterday I noticed some copies of Velux windows and in a lightbulb moment I'm thinking the south facing roof will keep the shed warm all year round and very much cheaper than Velux. In for a penny  {-)

I've not realistically looked at a budget for this but I have looked at very expensive pre made sheds that are just that! and crap for the price.
I hope to come in under 2k  %%

How mothers garden looked last week

Today I found another branch of Wickes that had straight C16
Now ready for the floor.

All the paving is simply repurposed from around the garden to serve better.

Andy very good, but do not forget the DPM, lots of people do not think it is needed until the floor starts to sink. bill

It’s all exterior pressure treated timber with a clear underdrawing for ventilation

Andy, That is even better, you cannot beat ventilation. Dont suppose you can get a bed in there as well? or you can swing a hammock. Good luck with the build, bill

It will soon fill up
My current dilemma is expense. Ideally the whole upper structure should be clad in OSB board and then wrapped in a breathable DPM then vertical battens to nail the cladding to. That would all be painfully expensive.
I think it will just be clad directly to the frame as I can’t justify the cost just for storage

After I’ve laid the 18mm OSB deck it will be wrapped in plastic sheet and the centre removed after the build is up and waterproof.

Will you be disassembling the walls to cover with a membrane and cladding, before finally erecting ?
