Instagram product placement
« on: October 13, 2021, 10:01:00 pm »

Hi all do any of you post your builds on Instagram if so be careful of what you post.
I posted my porsche 934 resto build and have been told to either take it down or set up a paid partnership with them as its product placement (I'm assuming it's because I have good year and castrol logos (amongst others)) I've deleted the post but if that's the case I think I will be deleting a lot more.

Could you pixellate the logos and see if they still want you to remove the images? You'd have thought that free advertising would have benefitted them!

But is it Instagram doing the demanding of money or the logo owners?  The former might want paying if they have found an excuse to think that they are being used as an advertising medium, the latter should be happy with free advertising.

It's actually a scam if you go to the link they send you it just takes you to a page for your bank details (no mention of Instagram or what you're paying for)(even more worrying how much) I've forwarded the link to Instagram (assuming that will do any good. Luckily I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to actually fill the form in and send it.

If you have the  app
How do I know if an email from Instagram is legitimate?
Now, if you receive an email claiming to be from Instagram, you can check if it's genuine by heading over to the “Emails from Instagram” option in the app's Security settings, which lists every email the service has sent you over the last 14 days.8 Oct 2019
