Hi Chris glad you enjoyed the pictures the build only took six years to complete. Hopefully I will build the Fencer kit but with a lot more detail added. Just one more seen many times Gambier Bay seen along side a Fletcher class

Hi frogman3:

Yes,I used Tamiya made diesel engine sound unit for a Tiger tank for a steam turbined carrier.! {-) O0
It passed 12 years to complete my HMS Fencer that contained about 5 intervals,some were over 1year or more... {-)
I guess years purely spent for building possibly is 4 or so... %) ;D
My first name is Kiyoshi(聖志)that means "holy will"though my family is Buddhist while my university is Christian.! It sounds something contradictory?? {-) In this sense,many Japanese are sooo contradictory too !!!!

I'll attach a video as follows and pay attention to the simulated diesel engine sound as well as smoking test, that was taken in the video in earlier stage of sailing tests. {-)
Can you hear the sound,sir ??

So yes, we hear the diesel engine sound %) ......models that talk with the Public are attractive or alive :-))

HMS Fencer as built had two boilers and a single main steam turbine and single screw with numerous smaller general service steam turbine generator sets [DC], so each of these elements would be hush power

Two diesel generators would have been installed to provide auxiliary power [electricity] for a cold ship [until steam is raised]

If any 'smartie' at the pond questioned the diesel engine sound, you could tell them the vessel is experiencing some steam turbine Gen Set electrical issues, so the auxiliary diesel generators are running  O0

Sorry, not sure what you mean Ned?................... these things happen in real life......

Remember the HMS Queen Elizabeth had a bout of electrical generation issues a few years back

Hi Derek;

It's so nice for me to have your kind description and reply on HMS Fencer 1/96 and 1/1. %% :-)

It is my pleasure Kiyoshi to be able to offer a plausible [if inventive] explanation for the sound of the Vessel as she departs her Naval Base berth

Remember the Children will love the sound, and 90% of the Parents will think the Battleship is very detailed and good looking {-)

Don't worry about Ned, he must be asleep  :P

Indeed,even I once used to think a battleship was very attractive and powerful judging from her appearance.
However,I like airplanes and warships that will lead to naturally a aircraft carrier. {-) O0

Dioramic scenes unfolded aboard the HMS Fencer. %%
Over 60 crews are working aboard the ship currently and planing to increase more. %)
Woops, I must go to bed.!! {-)

The Fencer model looks great but I prefer the American version U S S Cophaee hence mine will be CVE 12 sporting  a disruptive pattern and Catalina aircraft.

Bob Wilson on the Model Boats site has posted a link to HMS Premier which was a merchant conversion aircraft carrier. It is fascinating just what these second line carriers were involved in during the latter stages of the war and well worth reading.

Hi Chris;
I have enjoyed your USS Nimitz 1/144 pics which are so "gorgeous" with lots of fighters and scout plane as seen in a full scale carrier, well recreated every inch!! :-)) :-)) :-))

Pic;HMS Fencer starting hard to starboard with a high speed in the trial run. {-) %% ;D
    Another is a full scale USS George.H.W.Bush.Nimitz class carrier overwhelmingly large like Chris's carrier!!

Hi Stan;

I look forward to your nice build of USS Cophaee as I guess you will build as precise model as possible like you did with other models so far. :-))
