Hi chaps

Going for my first time tomorrow, Saturday. Going to give one of my motorbikes a run (is there a car-parking area for them or maybe in the camping/caravanning area?) so won't be bringing a boat! Or indeed buying one!

Chris
Follow the campsite signs, we are the big group bottom left with red flag with lions on it, or the car park for mayhem is 70yds from lake, left of campsite

Parking payment information-

Easiest pay machine to locate is by the Wickies Theatre on the corner- park in car park directly opposite or on the grassed areas. All you need is your reg number and a debit/credit card.

Alternatively you can pay via the phone or app

And finally these are the mayhem signs to follow, easiest method just follow the tarmac road to the lake  :-))

My first visit and really enjoyed it. Met Klunk, Steamboat Phil and David (DKW). Thanks to Steph for showing me the shortcut from the camping area where I parked.

Great photos Martin and nice slo-mo of the coming together.

Had to smile when the geese and goslings decided to show whose lake it was!

Great to see everyone enjoying themselves and in good weather too. Model boating comes to life again! Would love to have been there but spent all day today returning fron Greece on first holiday since 2019. Journey was OK until we encountered the QuEasyjet bit. Rather wished I'd spent 4.5 hours at Wicksteed than on a delayed aerial appliance.

Well I’ve suitably dried out now! A few drinks has warmed me up and the BBQ cooked by Klunk has helped. For anyone not in the now I’ve inspected the bottom of the lake and found it very wet! {-)
Good thing I bought some spare clothes to get changed into and some very surprising developments- my phone survived as did my van keys, haven’t yet tried the camera or the transmitters but hopeful! {-)
Hilarious but very wet :-))

That's my first mayhem attended and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it and in particular what a fantastically organised event it is. A massive thank you to all those involved. :-)) All the info provided, maps, directions, instructions & signage was spot on. It's amazing how many much bigger professional events totally fail at that. That was actually a big part in my spur of the moment decision to frantically charge the batteries and make the 270 mile round trip, it really made the whole thing very easy to attend. It almost feels like I should be paying someone! Joking aside, as someone not a member of a local club, is there a way to contribute a donation towards the running of the event?

I've never sailed anywhere with more than one other boat in the water so this really was an eye opener and fantastic fun. 3 boats sailed, 3 flat batteries and 0 collisions, not bad for a first time. Although after a while my eyes were spinning trying to keep track of everything %%
Already crossing off the days till next year :D
