stuart beam engine incomplete casting.
« on: December 17, 2021, 03:42:06 pm »

m engine incomplete casting.Hello
I've bought this Stuart Beam engine on bay, but it is not complete.
I knew it and the price is accordingly, but I have some bits and pieces missing : the main wheel and so on .... I am looking for the list of the complete kit.
Also , I need the drawing.
If someone can help me , I would appreciate. I definitely want to have this engine working. :-)
The drawing that I can get here and there are not very clear and I'd like to have the advice of someone who built it.
Thanks for your help. You can contact me on MP , mail , or directly in this post so that every one benefits. ok2
Kind regards.

Hello !
Thank you Frazer ! :-))
I requested a quote to Stuart for what is missing and the drawing . I shall decide what I buy then.
But if someone has drawing that he can scan and send to me , it would be great.
i shall probably have the steel, mid steel and bronze parts machined down by a friend who has the proper tools to reduce the cost.
Let's wait for a while !
Have a nice and safe day!
Cheers!

Hello !
Some news ...After buying part of this engine on Ebay (see above ..)and despite the price (after taxes) and the lack of parts, I thought I could buy what is missing directly from Stuart!
But Stuart is really too pricey today and does not encourage "buying!
In addition, some foundries were unusable: too hard or friable.
Finally an eminent member of this forum  kindly proposed to offer me the pieces that were missing. Many thanks to Phil. ok2
When everything was put together and ready for use, I was able to entrust it to a friend who knew how to machine down the cast without problems with the right tools.
In the end, all I have to do is disassemble and paint the machine.
But is it really necessary? Finally , I like its raw and naked look.
We can hear a small "toc" that will be eliminated later on. it seems to me to come from a setting that can be improved . To follow ..
KBIO is happy to have brought this machine back to life, thanks to two friends who supported me in this project and proving once again that solidarity between Steamers of the world is real !
Thank you all and have a good day!
KInd regards.

That's a very nice engine KBIO! But please paint it, or it will go rusty.
