I deliberately skewed the images to avoid copyright issues.
I have the original pages, but not the full magazine.

If someone seriously wants to build Plumgarth from this plan, I am happy to post the scale plan etc to them free of charge (even to Australia) and then it has not been "sold", or copied.
That build would be an interesting Topic here on Mayhem.

Don't know if you're using Photoshop Martin but on plans the height to width ratio causes "squashing" at times. Battery used is "Ever Ready" 'Flat battery', NO it wasn't, it was three 1.5v dry cells wrapped in a flat cardboard pack. Power source of choice for TG18 or Mighty Midget motors.
PDFs for this and other MM free plans are available.

  Regards  Ian

  PS. Scans good, photos c-ap.
And an aside, if you cut the ends of this plan to join up the back end, it DOESN'T work, pity the typesetters didn't try it. DAMHIK

Hi,wow, really old stuff. In the 70's I had a small 1:1 fishing boat, just 2.50m, wich later was replaced by a 3.80m one with larger outboarder. No need of model building at that time (my father usually said "either model or real, you have the choice....").

Now I'm modeling lifeboats, german DGzRS ones so far, but I'll get a plan and a hull for a Tyne class lifeboat next week. I found out that there is a Model Boats article about a 1:20 (or 1:18) built in the october 1986 issue. I would be very happy if someone here has that and can get me a copy of that pages (even photos would be ok), maybe via PN.
But probably 1986 is far too new for you guys here  {-)
Have fun,Joerg

I have long wanted to scan the 'Traditional Steam' articles by Basil Harley.
I have about the first ten or so but there is just so much good info in those articles,  I would want them on-line so they can be shared but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Hi,

The only reason I haven't scanned them and posted them somewhere is that somebody is going to have something to say about it.

How old are the articles?

( As long as there are no commercial interest and about 20+ years old, you should be fine.)
(( If you're still nervous, I'll post for you .... ))

Thank you so much for these pages.
I just wish the modern magazine was half as good. These articles are often technical and you learn a lot. Articles now are often just pictures with scant text connecting them. It is only when you go back to these that you realize what you have lost.
Is there any chance of finding the extra pages of the article "Model Powerboat Hull Design". Page 530 is included in post 129 above (submitted by Tony) from October 1982 Issue 380. I would be very interested in page 531! + the rest of the article if possible.

This was a favourite magazine of mine, back in the day, liked the electronics sections it had!
