Hi, All
I under stand from my viewing of the youtube vids that fiber glass doesnt like going over acute angles, which i think has contributed to the bubbles and the work needed to sort it.SO, im now wondering would the fine fiber glass tissue be more forgiving to go round the sharp edging of the hull, help and advice required before progressing..

Unidirectional glass cloth, the type that yachts are made from might do the job. Nature does not like 90o degree bends, either internal or external, it will always round it off. The way to get the right angle is to cure the moulding under pressure. Hope that helps.nemesis

I used to do it using tissue, but by far the easiest way is to mix laminating resin with west systems 403 microfibres and work that into all the corners, then lay up on top of that as normal.


Picked up this method from Dave Marles of Prestwich models, works every time

I've used a light spray of spray mount first, let it dry and then lay the cloth before applying the resin. Probably only works with light woven cloth.

You can use cellulose fibres, milled glass, or small glass strands mixed with resin to build a radius into the lay-up then use fabric or chopped matt for the final part.
