CHEDDAR MODELS GAS TANK - RONSON GAS VALVES
« on: March 21, 2022, 04:20:36 pm »

I need to replace the gas filler valve on a Cheddar models gas tank. Ronson ones would appear to be correct but they have a 4.5mm diameter thread. Does anyone know what the thread should be and are there different types?

Thanks

For all things Cheddar, I would suggest contacting Clevedon Steam:

Geoff,
Cheddar gas tanks all had the Ronson type gas valve which is M4.5 x 0.5 and can be had from Clevedon Steam  for £5.00 + P&P.
Hope this helps

George.

This worked a treat and filling is now a lot better with much less wasted gas and 100% immediate seal once I remove the filling probe.

Cheers

It is a good idea to have replacement ronson gas valve available...they seem to go bad at the worst possible time...luckily easy to replace with spares on hand and the little tool to unscrew them.
