Guys, I'm about to re. Paint the top side blue on my lifeboat, the existing coat has been lightly rubbed down , do I need to grey primer it again or just proceed with the new coat

Hi Trucker - I'm assuming that you are using the same paint that it already has on it? 


If so I would just go straight for the colour after a good degrease.  I would only use primer if there are any spots which go all of the way through to the sub surface and maybe only then just touch these areas up with primer first.


If you are unsure if its exactly the same paint just do a small test in an inconspicuous area first.

thanks for replying , yes its the same colour and brand, so will go ahead with confidence , hope the weather holds out too...
