Turnigy 6 XS RX.
« on: May 06, 2022, 06:25:54 pm »

Hi, here we go again. More electickery abounds.

Short story, saw a tug "Yorkshireman" bought it complete with above RX.

Asked for the controls to be switched to my preference from previous. I wanted the light and horn function moved from right stick to left.
The previous owner gladly tried to do this and gave up after a long frustrating episode. The left stick un-sprung vertically will not function the lights/horn function. Another RX failed too?

Question from an electro numpty.... does anyone know why this could be and what would be a solution please?
My choice is Right stick vertical... forward/reverse.     horizontal... bow thruster left/right.
Left stick Vertical... lights etc.     horizontal...rudder left/right.

My idea was to use the un-sprung vertical for control of items that didn't need positive end point control for docking etc?
Thanks again.

Exactly how are the lights and horn activated, is it an electronic switch or servo and microswitches? Some transmitters have the movement of the unsprung stick mechanically restricted, this is the throttle stick for aircraft so can use less movement. If it is using a digital switch then it may not be seeing enough change at the endpoint to trigger the switch, try increasing the endpoint adjustment in the menu , e.g. over 100%, and see if the switch works then.

Thanks Jim, not sure till collect boat Monday. Just aware that on that channel 3 positions for lights and also horn? Up for activation down to cancel. Up 1/down 1. up 2/down 2. etc. slight delay on cancellation.

Further considering the end point situation I have remembered that prior to requesting the stick change I couldn't get the lights/horn to cancel on the right stick?

Much to learn?
