Only with a pair of very good ear defenders and no neighbours within 5 miles. Was once at a model show where a Dutch team flew triple pulse jet powered deltas. The commentator said that they could be heard 10 miles away over the other side of the M11. Also keep any runs short as they rely on air flow when flying to cool them down slightly, will run with the tail pipe white hot if stationary.A short video showing a control line pulse jet used as a practice flyer for the modellers speed one. Only around 120 to 140 mph, much slower that the competition version. Put your speakers to max volume to gegt the right effect.

I've never been into the flying hobby but still enjoyed watching / listening to that video.
Thanks for sharing.

Someone at my old flying club had one and ran it a few times, I think it may have something to do with my terrible hearing

Sorry but that link shows just a big prop job and more wind noise than anything else watching paint dry springs to mind
