A further update on the Lisa M build. All the motors and shafts are in place next job fit the rudders and servo. I have introduced many builders to  Stixall a glue used in the construction industry. I have found this to be ideal glue for use in model building both motor mounts in Lisa are fixed using stixall. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Looking forward to the next instalment.

First fix of the electrics done note the extensive use of wago terminal blocks. I am now using these instead of the traditional terminal blocks.

The deck work is now complete and the next step will be to sand and seal the timber and then glue in place. I have gone for a twin screw rudder combination not sure how this will work time will tell. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Four coats of sanding sealer have been applied to the deck this can now be fixed to the hull. First picture shows the white dust after sanding down this is removed followed the final coat of sealer. Please note the rogue plank this  will be removed.

The deck is now glued in place just a few pictures showing all the clamps needed to hold down the deck. The masking tape is to stop surplus glue spoiling the deck finish. The last picture is of a new glue I am trying EB25 very similar to Stixall but better. Both Stixall and EB25 are made by Everbuild/Sica. Please note I have never had any problems using Stixall but local stockist did not have any so I bit the bullet and will try EB 25. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))    warning these glues are not cheap so shop around. Stixall comes in 80 ml tubes not sure about EB25

Now looking at the cabin area have decided to laminate the wood with 0.75  plastic card. Using this method will mean less wood to treat prior to painting. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Further pictures showing the use of thin plastic card laminated on the ply parts to reduce the amount of preparation when painting. I hope to fit a inner roof to allow lighting to be fitted in the model.

Looking great!! When I go to work on mine I’ll have to do some planning. I need to widen the opening in the deck and customize the superstructure for it. The Orca I’m building had a much narrower deck around the edges. I like the idea of laminating the wood with plastic. I’m guessing that’ s to save on all the sanding and sealing?
