Hi Jaymac I have a Virgin set top box with the Sony TV set connected.
In another room I have the LG TV.  This has an ethernet connection straight into a booster WiFi box due to WiFi not getting to this room with enough bits per second.  I get 70+Mbits close to the Virgin STB and 30Mbits from the booster

With the Sony set turned off the STB remains on(my choice) and my Tx for the headphones is connected direct to the STB and remains on as well.
This was the only way I could listen on headphones while my wife watches and listens to the Sony TV speakers at a low level.  She has excellent hearing.  If I connected my headphones into the Sony audio socket it turns the TV speakers off.
My Sony TV has the bluetooth de-activated as it is the smaller 49 inch model, but even then it would re-direct the sound o/p to the headphones.

My headphones as soon as I turn them on are connected to the live feed from the Virgin STB.  I do not see how I can pair them with my LG 43 inch TV as they would be fighting each other.
If I obtain a second bluetooth headphone set I expect I can pair them with the LG TV sound o/p.  There would now be 2 lots of bluetooth transmissions on at the same time.  I wondered if it would all work?
I hope that explains my end of it?
regards
Roy

Virgin ironically unknown territory to me Roy. So your Sony is  fed from the STB   and that is all ok
Is the LG  also fed from the STB if so can you watch a different channel to the Sony or not
I  know Sky Q do mini's for multi sets presume Virgin do to.As said a bit of a Dummy on this  but if I can grasp enough of your setup  I know where to ask

Hi Jaymac my LG TV is totally separate and not connected to Virgin accept direct on to the Internet through the ethernet cable.
There ae no issues with Virgin at all.

Hi jaymac, the ethernet cable takes the place of a WiFi connection, it is an option giving a hard wired Internet connection.  My WiFi booster had an ethernet socket and so I used it.
It is a smart TV so I can access the Internet and I get my TV from Freeserve.  It is an excellent TV, 43 inch and about £350 with a 6 year warranty.

I can use Alexa and just ask for the TV programme or a You tube video as I feel like it.  Or I have the 'magic' remote control for electing channels as normal.

They skipped a lot in that article.  There was a long TV documentary about her a few years ago.  Must have missed the film Bombshell.

Hi Jaymac that is about it!  The set top box is not turned off and as it powers the Bluetooth Tx that stays on all the time.
I know it can be pointed out as not economical but when my wife uses the TV (Sony) she watches through the Virgin box and has no idea how to bring it up on line if I turn the box off before going to bed.

Bluetooth has 37 data + 3 admin channels 2 Mhz apart (2402-2480Mhz) so like WiFi, Bluetooth is not one but many.

Most kit will seek a clear Bluetooth frequency automatically to prevent interference (not unlike frequency hopping / listen before transmit RC kit)

Radio Control RC 2.4 Ghz  2400Mhz - 2485Mhz - all but the same frequency range as Bluetooth ....

Hi Jaymac thanks for your efforts. Yes the LG TV has bluetooth, it is less than 6 months old.  I have asked around in the family for a set of headphones.  My hearing is dodgy, so much of the sound performance is lost on me, so I am more concerned with the comfort when wearing them.

My hearing aids cope with making me aware of the higher frequencies  and I want to wear the headphones over the aids.  The Avantree ones I have are quite good for this but relatively dear.  I will let you know what I do.
Thanks again

Hi Roy   That's a bitch with the hearing mind you the dialogue on some  programmes is bad at source.  Of course they blame the tv speakers I don't use  the tv speakers at all in the evening and my sound system struggles at time .  Hope you get it working ok

Recent operations submitted via the B******t broadcasting company sums up the deterioration of quality sound transmissions we have to tolerate even with the advent of enhanced (Sound bars) reproduction equipment. Wonder when we're going to be "reintroduced" 7 X 4 ellipticals?

Hi jaymac to be honest I have been well served by the NHS with hearing aids.  I have some plastic cone ones that just poke inside the ear and I can forget they are there.
I can switch sound off from the rear just a click and the 2 are connected by WiFi and the other does the same.

However in a restaurant if there is not too much ambient sound I can listen in to the conversation behind me on another table.  I swear sometimes I have better hearing than I was used to.

We had specialist monitoring equipment when I was in the RAF and I found I could then hear just above 20Kc/s (no hetrz then) which is the limit of human hearing.
Always a bright side!
regards
Roy
