Hi, I believe Mountfleet Models took over some Model Slipway stock.  Not sure which kits but they are worth a try if parts can't be scratch built?

Hope this contact helps,

I built this model many moons ago, and I'm pretty sure the gantry was assembled from plasticard. It should be easy to rebuild if its beyond repair.

Was there anything wrong with my suggestion on your first post for this?

Phil

All you 'may' be able to buy is a piece of printed plastic card. It wasn't a built assembly. I can't quite remember the RIB, but I think that was two vac mouldings.

Hi there,

the name threw me or I would have answered earlier .... as you entitled this Shannon police launch where it is actually The Shamrock customs launch designed by the late great Dave Milbourn sadly he is no longer with us - he is such a big miss.  As I say he designed it.  The structure on the back which supports the dinghy was built up using plasticard on the kit as well as on the plans.   I do have a full set of plans which were supplied to myself from Dave when we did an article in Model Boats Magazine - so, if you wish, I will try and scan the section for the buildup of the hoist.     Here are a couple of pics of the magazines which have both full builds in - one of the kit and one scratch built from plans.

HI Barrie thanks mate for your letting me know that it is made of plasticard I've still got the original  and I'm going to ask john who's also helped me and told me that it's a Shamrock fast patrol boat cause there are lots of Shannons so that's good. The Dealer I bought it from made a box up to ship it in ,course the card was weak and hence the damage at the stern, I can't understand people sending a boat  and not packing it in a good strong box ,all the polystyrene couldn't save it. Anyway keep safe Cheers Philgg

Well John what can I say , checking in some back editions of Model boat magazines  telling me it's a Shamrock fast patrol boat I'm impressed, if you can send me drawings it would be great but don't worry if you can't , I've got the original and I've stuck it together it doesn't look to bad, I just thought if I could buy one it 'd look majestic, I'm easily pleased ha ha , nice to meet you as they say take care Cheers Philgg

well hello Phil,

Hope this is clear enough for you.   If not, send me a personal message with your email address, and, mark it PLANS in the subject - so I know where we are going :-) and I will try and send you a photocopy that way.

So, let's have a try....just in case you didn't realise - if you click on the paper clip at the bottom of the image, it should open up on a separate page - a clearer scan :-)

There are 2 scans because I couldnt get them all on the little scanner I have.
