Update for the Deans Marine open days on the 9-10
th
September.
We hope to release a new kit in to the range at the open days this year as it has become a bit of tradition at paqst events.
The latest model will be
Steam Yacht
S.Y.
NAPSUGAR
This elegant steam yacht was constructed by Thorneycrofts at Wollston for a private customer
around 1909.
The name NAPSUGAR is Hungarian for “sunray” and is also a girls name Napsugar being one of the Vestal Virgins .
She was powered by a twin cyliner double acting engine giving a max sped of 12 knots, quite fast for the time, and a cruising speed of 9.5 knots on a length of 73ft with a shallow draught of 3ft aft.

Glass fibre hull with gingerbread detailing, Laser etched deck in sycamore faced plywood with laser planking,
Brass etched details, cast metal fittings, laser cut HIPS plastic parts, full size plan and comprehensive instruction with a build c/d of pictures

Salright, sad fact is, despite the model being a true minuturisation of the original we can't scale the 'waves' to enable scale speeds.
